The Airdrie Health Foundation is starting fundraising efforts for enhanced nurse training, maintaining the Pregnancy and Beyond program, and equipment to enhance eye care at urgent care after the board approved the latest funding round on April 5.
One of the health foundation’s key fundraising focuses in the latest funding round is to provide nurses at urgent care with the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS).
Airdrie Health Foundation executive director Michelle Bates said the training would enable nurses to better serve one of the largest patient demographics that visit Airdrie’s urgent care centre.
“We’re funding that course for 28 nurses. It’s an advanced resuscitation program designated for health care providers to improve outcomes for pediatric patients experiencing respiratory emergency, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest,” said Bates.
